Share your summer stories!

Now that we’re firmly into September and the long hot days are mostly behind us, we can start to look back and reflect on the adventures of the Summer of 2021- our second summer of this crazy pandemic.

Here’s where we’d like to ask a favour. Many of you chose to spend your vacation, or part of it, with us in Meldrum Bay this summer. We’re happy that you did, and we’re looking to share your stories!

If you have a good story or memory or a favorite picture, we’d be pleased if you would send it to us at info@meldrumbaymarina.ca, so that we can possibly share it on this website.

The Queen Has Arrived!

Island Queen Cruise Ship

Recently, the Island Queen cruise ship travelled from home base in Parry Sound to the Meldum Bay Marina. It was a quick stopover at our wharf on route to Sault Ste Marie Michigan for scheduled dry dock maintenance, but Christine and Steve were gracious enough to take some time to share their story with us. The Island Queen has been part of their family for years, providing scenic day tours within Georgian Bay’s 30000 islands. The ship is custom designed to maximize comfort and viewing quality.

If you are ever in the Parry Sound area, check out the Island Queen Tours….and tell them Meldrum Bay sent you!

Meldrum Bay Marina, Campground…..and Beach!

It’s official, Meldrum Bay Marina and Campground now has its own beautiful sandy beach! This important project is the result of a lot of hard work by our own DCIA members, and some generous donations from members of our community. All parties understood how important it was to have a safe and beautiful place to swim and enjoy the ‘cool’ waters of Meldrum Bay. It is nestled between the breakwater and the point before the Day Boat Launching. An enormous amount of thanks goes to Mark Wickett of Lafarge Canada for the donation of aggregates and to Paul Atkinson for the donation of funds required to move the aggregates to our property.

The community of Meldrum Bay welcomes you all to our new Campground Beach! The beach is unsupervised, so always monitor children at play. The warm weather is upon us, so we hope to see our community members and Campground and Marina guests out there soon!
