Meldrum Bay is a favoured destination for pleasure craft and campers from around the Great Lakes and beyond, offering a unique and spectacular reward to the adventurous traveler. Scenic views and beautiful shorelines, coupled with modern services and accommodations make Meldrum Bay a special destination for those who appreciate a quiet, simple get-away.
The village is located at the western-most tip of Manitoulin Island, and as you round the last curve in Highway 540 you’ll catch your first glimpse of the waters of the Bay and the sailboats, yachts and fishing boats moored at the docks. Boaters recognize Meldrum Bay as the first Canada Customs port for those traveling east from Michigan and American ports beyond.
The Meldrum Bay Marina and Campground is owned and operated by the citizens of Dawson township, otherwise known as the village of Meldrum Bay. Travelling by Car
On land, Meldrum Bay and the Marina can be reached by following Highway 6 from Espanola to Little Current, then Highway 540 following the north shore of the Island to Meldrum Bay.
Travelling by Ferry
Travel between the Bruce Peninsula and Manitoulin Island aboard the MV Chi Cheemaun is a popular and scenic choice for thousands of vacationers taking a break from the traditional highway approach. From May to October, visitors can take the ferry from Tobermory on the Bruce Peninsula to South Bay Mouth on Manitoulin Island. Follow Highway 6 to Highway 542, to Highway 540 straight to Meldrum Bay.

Travelling by Air
If you are coming by air, the Island is serviced by two small airports (in Gore Bay and south of Little Current), and float planes are known to land right in the waters of Meldrum Bay.
